My Client Has Been Scammed

MY CLIENT HAS BEEN SCAMMED!

I was notified today by my angry client thinking that I had collected a payment via ‘www.gocardless.com’ for an amount that did not relate to our agreement. My client went on to say he has been charged since December twice in the month.

Obviously I had to investigate this and ‘Gocardless‘ confirmed that the amount my client was querying was nothing to do with me.

Gocardless sent me an email to trace payments with a link https://gocardless.com/payment-lookup/ I forwarded this onto my client and he managed to find out who the company was that had in fact taken the payments and it so happens to be the company named above.

I nearly lost a client because of these muppets so I am going to play fire with fire.

Who are GoCardless:

Gocardless in a nutshell is a service to set up direct debits for small businesses, meaning any company that collects recurring payments has the ability to collect payments month after month. They have created a global bank debit network, to rival credit and debit cards. … GoCardless has offices in London, Paris, Munich, Melbourne and San Francisco.

MANGOMEDIA.ONLINE

This is what I found out about the company by doing to simply search:

Do not just take my word for it do read what trust pilot have on them:

https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/mangomedia.online

Their telephone number also does not work:

01229 797 282

I did send them an email but I have a feeling it will be ignored, hence I did a Companies House Search and this is what I found:

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11318727

Screenshots Below:

Now there are a couple of resigned directors on this portal however I am after the current director ‘ STEVEN DOMINIK COLEMAN’ who has 75% shares in the company but what is a bit weird he does not seem to be on LinkedIn. However I did find one of the resigned directors and have asked this person to contact me. If they don’t then it will be a matter for the police and small claims court.

Seeing now I have a name for this person not only will I be advising my client and anyone else that has been scammed by this company to contact:

https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

This is classed as cyber crime. To try to get the money back a formal letter needs to be sent to this person:

Mr Steven Dominik Coleman

Correspondence Address is also in the footer of their website:

123 Domains Names Limited
48 Dartmouth Street
Barrow-In-Furness
LA14 3AS

To get your money back after giving this person time preferably 7 – 14 days, one can also go down the following route, however you need to exhaust all avenues to retrieve payment including, phoning your bank , emailing, sending snail mail letter (post) and finally take them to a small claims court, this will cost you but you can claim the money back for court fees and debt collection fees:

SMALL CLAIMS COURT

https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money

https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/court-fees

DEBT COLLECTOR

If you go down the route of getting a debt collector involved they will charge you upfront.

You could try this company although I have never used them personally but they offer ‘NO WIN NO FEE DEBT COLLECTION’ https://mydebtrecovery.co.uk/

Do your own research and get prices before settling for any particular company.

Hence it is better to try and do it yourself and try to recover the money. If you find this daunting you can then hire a debt collector.

Final Thoughts

These people are low lifes in my opinion if they prey on people and give web designers a bad name.

Hence anyone that crosses my path and messes with my clients will be publicly named and shamed.

Steven Dominik Coleman’

….is now publically named and shamed and will be on my radar forever unless he gives back all the money he has scammed from everyone.

He is not on LinkedIn, not sure about Facebook and seems to have little carbon footprint. He may well in fact have two locations, but primarily I am concentrating on 123 Domain Names LTD (no relation ot 123reg,com), obviously in the world of domaining someone is bound to know who he is……

I did some more digging on the resigned directors of 123 Domain Names and one of them who is on LinkedIn is associated with a company called ‘The Domain Directory’ and guess who I found to be an active director only Mr Steven Coleman but trading under a different address: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/12424499/officers

THE DOMAIN DIRECTORY GROUP LTD 69 Market Street, Dalton-In-Furness, England, LA15 8DL

Anyone who has any information on these people and companies 123 Domain Names LTD, MangoMedia.Online and The Domain Directory, should contact us using the form below, all information will be treated confidentially. Also when trying to recover your money send letters to both addresses mentioned above:

Saliva Cross Contamination of Germs

SALIVA & MAIL CROSS CONTAMINATION OF GERMS

EBOLA

You would think dealing with the Corona Pandemic was already enough for us to deal with for the rest of our lives but wait for it there is something else lurking on the horizon. In fact, 6 countries have been placed on ‘Urgent Alert’ amidst a new “EBOLA” outbreak.

Ebola kills through organ failure and severe bleeding and is very transmissible through body fluids. During the 2013 to 2016 Ebola outbreak more than 11,000 people died across Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

So what has Saliva and Mail got to do with anything, I hear you cry?

Saliva & Mail.

People send letters and parcels all over the world everyday and yes most parcels and envelopes use postage stamps other than the ones that use franking machines then this does not apply.

What does a person do to seal an envelope or stick a stamp:

So what does a person do when they stick a stamp on an envelope or parcel or seals an envelope?……they use in most cases their own saliva.

Therefore what happens when you have just stuck an envelope down nice and wet or stuck a postage stamp, you have now smeared your germs right across and have successfully contaminated the said item.

How long can germs live on surfaces:

Different Kinds of Surfaces

Metal Examples: doorknobs, jewelry, silverware 5 days

Wood Examples: furniture, decking 4 days

Plastics Examples: milk containers and detergent bottles, subway and bus seats, backpacks, elevator buttons 2 to 3 days

Stainless steel Examples: refrigerators, pots and pans, sinks, some water bottles 2 to 3 days

Cardboard Examples: shipping boxes 24 hours

Copper Examples: pennies, teakettles, cookware 4 hours

Aluminum Examples: soda cans, tin-foil, water bottles 2 to 8 hours

Glass Examples: drinking glasses, measuring cups, mirrors, windows Up to 5 days

Ceramics Examples: dishes, pottery, mugs 5 days

Paper Examples: mail, newspaper The length of time varies. Some strains of coronavirus live for only a few minutes on paper, while others live for up to 5 days.

Food Examples: takeout, produce. Coronavirus doesn’t seem to spread through food.

Water Coronavirus hasn’t been found in drinking water. If it does get into the water supply, your local water treatment plant filters and disinfects the water, which should kill any germs.

Fabrics Examples: clothes, linens There’s not much research about how long the virus lives on fabric, but it’s probably not as long as on hard surfaces.

Shoes One study tested the shoe soles of medical staff in a Chinese hospital intensive care unit (ICU) and found that half were positive for nucleic acids from the virus. But it’s not clear whether these pieces of the virus cause infection. The hospital’s general ward, which had people with milder cases, was less contaminated than the ICU.

Skin and hair There’s no research yet on exactly how long the virus can live on your skin or hair. Rhinoviruses, which cause colds, survive for hours.

https://www.webmd.com/lung/how-long-covid-19-lives-on-surfaces

So what is my point to all this?

If people who may not even be aware they are carriers of ANY disease spread their germs and contaminate envelopes and parcels imagine the knock on effect this has on th population. First the parcels and envelopes get picked up and sent to a sorting office where multiple people handle mail. Imagine how many people may get infected simply by that one task alone?

Yes but it is embedded into our brains we must wash our hands frequently, but how many of us actually do? People are not OCD like me may be complacent about touching things and them washing hands. All it takes is for an infected person to touch several surfaces and someone else then gets contaminated. You not only need to clean your hands but everything you come into contact with. Germs live on surfaces for days.

I am a suffered of contamination OCD I have been for over 30 years so I am more aware than anyone about cross contamination and germs and will not touch something that has been touched by someone else without disinfecting the item first. With mail that can be difficult to disinfect, hence I use disposable latex gloves. The same goes with outer packaging of food and toiletries and household products.

You have to think outside the box (no pun intended), the items have been shipped from somewhere before ending up on our shelves, imagine how many people have touched that item before you?

You will never be able to stop any virus from spreading if not enough is done to:

SPREAD “Germ Cross Contamination” AWARENESS to the Masses.

This has to be done with media amplification.

How is Coronavirus is spread?

According to current evidence, the COVID-19 virus is primarily transmitted between people through respiratory droplets and contact routes. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-background-information/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-epidemiology-virology-and-clinical-features#:~:text=According%20to%20current%20evidence%2C,%2C%20faeces%20and%20urine.

This means the virus comes from the mouth, from sneezing and coughing and what else is our mouths…..SALIVA!

FINAL NOTES:

If you intend on sending mail and have to seal envelopes and postage stamps get a sponge from the kitchen or bathroom and soak it with water, then wipe the envelope or stamps with it, NEVER USE SALIVA.

When handling goods always disinfect outer packaging whenever possible and when handling mail use disposable gloves.

On another note about spreading awareness I for one do not buy tabloids, do not watch terrestrial TV so how can people like myself be alerted of cross contamination? I have an answer social media push notifications.

ADDENDUM:

According to a study conducted early on in the pandemic found the virus lost infectivity on paper within three hours, says Professor Mark Harris, from the School of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Leeds.

Prof Harris told HuffPost UK it is “highly unlikely” you’d spread Covid by licking an envelope – or catch it by touching an envelope that had been licked. Furthermore, the average time an envelope would probably have spent in a postbox would be no more than three hours waiting to be collected. By the time it’s been through the postal service, three hours will most definitely have passed.

(What about parcels which also have stamps and have to be taken physically to post offices or given to couriers)? sorry but I am not convinced...

“However my thoughts on this are, for example, an elderly person who has a friend, family member, carer or neighbor asks them to post their mail for them they essentially would cross-contaminate”.

How To Increase Business & Followers.

I noticed today a post on LinkedIn from someone that was connected with me but was not an internet marketer per-se, stating “How to increase followers from 30K to 225K followers” in five minutes per day by commenting #yes

The first thing that came to mind is he has no authority to advise considering he is and what I saw was a clever click bait hack and nothing more. This is a disappointment when people are genuinely looking for answers and come across someone just looking out for him/herself, simply having people click the post for the post to go no where.

Therefore I have taken upon myself to write this post to help individuals increase followers/business. This method can be applied to all social media platforms:

1: Optimize Your Profile Pages, optimise your cover photo and also your profile picture. Make your profile picture look professionally done. Remember to be aware of your background in the photo. A picture says a thousand words. Try to get a professional head shot done at a local photographic studio (when they are open again) or get a friend to take a photo without any distractions in the backdrop.

2: Start with connecting with people, most social media platforms say only connect with the people you know, but what if you have a genuine enquiry, the best thing is to find their email addresses to write to them first before sending them a connection request, especially of you do not know them.

3: Write articles on your pages and link back to articles you have written on your blogs and share these articles with your connections.

4: Make your post intriguing only give a little away and entice the reader to click you post for more information.

5. Share photos on your social media platform pages, instagram is good for this or do infographics and add titles to your posts.

6: Be creative and publish videos, add captivating content that people will be willing to watch. Add humour, funny videos attract peoples attention.

7: Go Live. Livestreaming is not for everyone but if you are happy broadcasting an event or milestone as long as it has good content you will get people watching.

8: Advertise your brochures and share your pdf’s on your business pages.

9: Use hashtags when closing your post text.

10: Don’t forget to tag your connections and companies that may find your post useful.

11: Give your followers valuable advice. Everyone is a guru these days and some can be better at it than others but you only have one chance of being an expert in your niche and the more followers you have the more well known you will become.

12: RSS feeds are a good way of finding trending posts, create “breaking news” posts that perhaps people outside your region may not have heard of. Do not copy posts word for word as that is called plagiarism and you will be penalised by search engines. For me I always use one of my blogs to write articles which I then share with my connections and although I may read something I will scramble it into my own words, even giving my own perspective.

13: Be consistant and active everyday on all your social media platforms. I am perhaps the world worst as I only seem to hang out on LinkedIn because most of my work is B2B but recently I have been asked to do B2C hence I need to alter my mind set and concentrate on Facebook pages and groups more.

14: Create viral posts this could be something like a give away or a competition with a deadline.

15: Join groups on your social media platforms.

16: Create your own groups for your different niches.

17: Create your own business pages on all your social media platforms, keep your professional and personal pages seperate.

18: If you have an event coming up or thinking of creating one, social media is a good place to advertise and market yourself.

19: Once you have a following on your social media platforms do reach out and collaborate with your connections.

20: Set the buttons on your profiles to a “Follow” button.

21: Create a call to action in every post.

22: Promote your social media profiles everywhere, including your website, blogs and email signatures.

23: Cross promote your profile on your other social media channels. For me I have on default business card website that I point people to, this saves time typing out each social media platform I am connected to.

24: Pay per click advertising campaigns are not only good with Google & Bing but they are also is a good way of connecting with people through your social media platforms. Facebook & Instagram is a place where you can connect B2C, this is good if you are targeting a specific category or people. You can fine tune your specifications to the location, age, gender and interests.

25: Try to update your profile page frequently, a stagnant page is boring and will show your audience that you are frequesnt at updating. If you have new services, always keep them updated.

26: Always reply to comments, no matter how trivial, ignoring a comment makes the person who wrote it worthless. Obviously if you have hundreds of thousand of comments pick out the ones that stand out and thank everyone in a generic comment.

27: When people share your posts and pages, thank them.

28: Get your biggest fans to endorse you, this applies to LinkedIn more so than any other social media channel and visa versa, you will be amazed how may people who you endorse will endorse you back. The same goes with review ask your customers to write a review about your brand.

29: If you have businesses that wish you to promote them, do offer to write recommendations, this gives you exposure aswell as exposure for your client, but if the businesses wish more exposure you could offer other marketing strategies which you could potentially charge for the service. I do this free of charge by adding banner ads to all my social media pages and groups I am connected on. This is short lived advertising but for a permanent fixture on my blogs I charge a monthy/yearly fee.

30: Exact match searchable keyword and phrases are so important not only in your domain name but on your website, meta tags and social media pages. When choosing a Facebook page for example use words that people would use to search for your product or service rather than your unknown brand name. Your brand name will become popular over time and it will not be an overnight success unless you spend a lot of money on advertising, I just do not mean Google Ads I mean in publications, newspapers, radio and TV.

31: Make your social media profile searchable, make them public.

32: When commenting on other peoples posts, do not get personal and do not get into trolling arguments if someone does not see the value of your comment. Be professional and do not sell things on peoples posts. You could add a backlink to your company as a signature or hashtag but thats it, don’ be the pushy sales person.

33: Give incententives to get people to share your posts. This could be a free e-book or a discount voucher.

35: Become an influencer.

36. Become a public speaker.

37: Create educational webinars, podcasts, tutorials, use youtube and share your content on all social media platforms.

38. Create a SEO link wheel, of your websites, blogs and social media platforms.

39. Start a blog and add RSS feeds so that in engages people’s interests.

40. Have a subscribe widget or pop up so that you can capture peoples emails and then send them updates or newsletters. Do not install the popup until a person is about to exit your site and not before. I believe it is off putting to have a subscribe popup the moment you attempt to access a site. You need to earn my trust and loyalty before I give my email away.

41. Integrate a chat widget into your websites and blogs so that when visitors visit your sites you can engage with them.

42: Guest blog on other notable websites.

43: Become a podcast interviewer. Invite people to join you in a discussion.

44. Write a book about you and your niche and publish your services and products.

45. Leave business cards on noticeboards in supermarkets, cafes (when they open again).

46. Make flyers and post them through peoples doors.

47. Consider giving out freebies, such as buy one get one free.

48. Start a competition.

49. Consider getting people to market you using affiliate links. https://rakutenadvertising.com/en-uk/

50. Advertise in Magazines and in Newspapers.

51. Offer to do something for free, this could be free web hosting in my case or free marketing or promotion.

52. Wear promotional clothing.

53. Give away promotional merchandise.

54. Word of mouth advertising get all your family and friends to promote you and get their family and friends and before you know it you have a network of connections.

55. Do outbound marketing, like picking up the phone and calling or writing snail mail letters.

56. Enlist the help of other advocates in your industry, find a mentor.

57. As your employees to engage in your social media pages, make them contributors.

58. Post your articles at ceratin times of the day. I find that during working hours people are busy getting on with business. So you have to pick times that appeal to your network browsing times, otherwise you posts may not get a look in. However according to LinkedIn’s their busiest hours are in the morning and midday from Monday to Friday. This will ensure your post to get maximum reach.

59. Add multiple admins to you pages and ask your colleagues to help you.

60. Join all the social media platforms and follow companies and people of interest.

TV Licensing UK Part II

Do you need a License to watch NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME VIDEO?

Should TV Licensing UK offer “Pay As You Go”?

The other day I had my annual reminder that my TV License had been renewed, which reminded me to phone these people up and ask the question do they do “Pay As You Go”. Meaning if I only access and watch one or two documentaries a year if and that is pushing it, why do I have to pay for a full license?

In fact, I wrote about TV Licensing a while ago posing the same question:

https://www.cymrumarketing.com/2020/02/07/uk-tv-licensing/

I was told the other day by someone who clearly did not seem to be a happy person, that if I watch tv I have to pay for the license and was very arrogant as he spoke to me as if he had some sort of power over me. He was not sympathetic to my call and I felt that my call had literally fallen on deaf ears…..Talk to the hand!

This is what the government says about TV Licensing:

Overview

You must have a TV Licence if you:

  • watch or record programs on a TV, computer or other device as they’re broadcast
  • download or watch BBC programs on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand

A TV Licence costs £157.50 (£53 for black and white TV sets) for both homes and businesses.

What’s covered

A single TV Licence covers all of the following in a single property:

  • TV sets
  • computers
  • laptops
  • tablets
  • mobile phones
  • any other device that can receive a TV signal

You do not need a TV Licence to watch:

  • non-BBC programs on online catch-up services
  • videos or DVDs
  • clips on websites like YouTube
  • closed circuit television (CCTV)

Find out if you need a TV Licence on the TV Licensing website.

Free and discounted TV licenses

You can get a free license if you’re 75 or older and you get Pension Credit.

You can get a discounted license if you have a severe vision impairment.

If you live in a residential care home, the person who is in charge of the home can apply for a license for you.

Fines and penalties

You can be fined up to £1,000 if you watch or record live TV without a TV Licence.

https://www.gov.uk/tv-licence

Do you need a Licence to watch NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME VIDEO?

The answer is simple you do not need a license for NETFLIX & AMAZON PRIME VIDEO.

If you only watch on-demand or catch-up programs through streaming services like Netflix, then you do NOT need a TV license – UNLESS you’re watching BBC programs on iPlayer. … You need to be covered by a TV license if you watch live TV on any channel or device.

FINAL THOUGHTS

There have been a lot of talks recently about scrapping the TV Licence, with culture secretary Nicky Morgan suggesting it could be abolished by 2027, but by this time the TV Licensing People should refund people like me, and for argument’s sake if I watch two documentaries a year that equates to £13.00 per month which if say each documentary was one month apart and I have adapted this for the last 10 years that would mean for every year I should get a refund £131.00 multiplied by 10 years is a total of £1,300 that the TV Licensing people have made off the back off me. Moving forward another six years based on my current viewing will be a further £786.00 I will potentially pay the TV Licensing people for nothing. This would bring the grand total of £2,086.00

Brits who want to watch live TV or use the BBC’s iPlayer service must fork out for a license for their home. It used to be straightforward, as until the 21st Century, if you wanted to watch TV shows, you needed to watch an actual TV.

But the rise of streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime have made some people realize they do not actually watch TV through a TV aerial or record programs on a TV, computer, or another device that are broadcasted, downloaded, or watch BBC programs on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand

I think it is daylight robbery for people like myself and someone needs to demand that the TV Licensing People offer “PAY AS YOU GO” rather than rob you blind.

Obviously, the BBC have to pay their journalists and the Licensing contributes to their fees and overheads so I am not saying abolish the licensing altogether as people will still watch BBC and the media still needs to get paid but instead give people the opportunity to pay as they go.

For all intents and purposes, someone should start a petition. I personally do not have time to do it myself as I am busy with my work, but someone should contact Culture Secretary Nicky Morgan:

Caution

Vulnerable People Who Have Had: https://www.lemtrada.com/

Vulnerable People who have had Alemtuzumab should get additional medical advice before taking the PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE.

My daughter was treated with the drug Alemtuzuzumab.

Alemtuzumab WAS a medication used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia and multiple sclerosis. On July 3, 2020, Sanofi Genzyme was notified that our Lemtrada Home Phlebotomy Partner, Examination Management Services Inc., (EMSI) has gone out of business.

What Lemtrada warning said:

LEMTRADA can cause serious side effects including:

Serious autoimmune problems: Some people receiving LEMTRADA develop a condition where the immune cells in your body attack other cells or organs in the body (autoimmunity), which can be serious and may cause death. Serious autoimmune problems may include:

  • Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), is a condition of reduced platelet counts in your blood that can cause severe bleeding that may cause life‑threatening problems. Call your healthcare provider (HCP) right away if you have any of the following symptoms: easy bruising; bleeding from a cut that is hard to stop; coughing up blood; heavier menstrual periods than normal; bleeding from your gums or nose that is new or takes longer than usual to stop; small, scattered spots on your skin that are red, pink, or purple
  • Kidney problems called anti‑glomerular basement membrane disease, which, if not treated, can lead to severe kidney damage, kidney failure that needs dialysis, a kidney transplant, or death. Call your HCP right away if you have any of the following symptoms: swelling of your legs or feet; blood in the urine (red or tea‑colored urine); decrease in urine; fatigue; coughing up blood

It is important for patients to have blood and urine tests before they receive, while on treatment, and every month for 4 years or longer after they receive their last LEMTRADA infusion.

***Thoughts From the Editor of this Post.

As with every drug we take there is an element of risk hence that is why we have leaflets inside the packaging about what the drug is and what side effects there are.

As a carer and a concerned mum, it is my duty to know if my daughter should have the vaccine, the following telephone numbers had auto-response messages saying the lines were busy before the calls were disconnected after my daughter tried phoning today.

029 218 36318

029 218 36319

029 218 36323

029 218 36340

We are located in Cardiff UK so hence these are Cardiff Numbers. If you are outside Wales you should look up your local health board in your region.

I advised my daughter to phone 111 and no one could advise her and she was told that someone would phone her back.

Upon further fact checking I personally phoned the secretary of the Professor of Neurology in Cardiff and I explained that my daughter was a patient and the secretary directed me to this site: https://cavuhb.nhs.wales/our-services/ms-multiple-sclerosis/ (The site does not explain anything about my concerns about diminished immune response) I also recited screenshot no 2 with my concerns and was told that all MS patients should have the vaccine although she could not explain what diminished immune response meant:

Immunocompromised persons, including individuals receiving immunosuppressant therapy, may have a diminished immune response to the vaccine. No data are available about the concomitant use of immunosuppressants.
As with any vaccine, vaccination with COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 may not protect all vaccine recipients.

So obviously not leaving any stone unturned and wanting to know what “diminished immune response” meant I found the following information:

Diminished Immune Response Meaning:

A diminished immune response underlies age-related SARS-CoV-2 pathologies – PubMed (nih.gov)

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/primary-immunodeficiency/symptoms-causes/syc-20376905

Reading between the lines as I am no expert and I stand corrected if I am wrong, from what I understand my daughter should she decide on having the vaccine today will have her immune system diminished so there is no way for her to fight the virus. Furthermore and I quote: “No data is available about the concomitant use of immunosuppressants – may not protect all vaccine recipients“.

This tells me that it has no been tested on immune suppressant drugs or patients who have had immune suppressants, hence this is open for debate.

Bad Courier Service Part II

Bad Courier Service part II

I wrote the other day about an experience my daughter and I have had with ‘Hermes Group’: https://marketingagency.cymrumarketing.com/2021/01/29/couriers-poor-services/

As you all know where ever there is an opportunity to write about different things I also seek out the CEOs of the companies for comment.

Now moving forward after I had emailed the CEO Martijn DeLange with a copy of the link to my original post, I then got someone underneath him to contact me.

This brings me to the post I made about heirachy, if I wanted his minions to contact me I would not have contacted him: https://marketingagency.cymrumarketing.com/2021/02/01/sending-emails-to-ceos/

So anyway the email said they were investigating the incident.

My daughter then said that she also received an email from the depot also saying that they apologised but the parcel was still in the depot??

As you are aware I updated my original post and said a random stranger had actually delivered the parcel the following day after I raised the complaint, so how could the parcel still be at the depot??

This tells me the company either do not know what they are doing or are simply lying to save face.

I updated the original post to say the parcel had been delivered by some random stranger but not by Hermes and the parcel had been delivered to a random address and not ours.

Not thinking anymore of it, I then received a phone call from head office yesterday 03/02/21 and Hermes Group wanted to confirm if my daughter had received her parcel and I said yes but wait for it they mentioned that the parcel was from ‘Pretty Little Thing’, not once did I mention ‘Pretty Little Thing’ in my in my emails although I did say it was coming from ‘ASOS’, so where they got ‘Pretty Little Thing’ from is beyond my thinking?

The person from head office then made the excuse that the delivery driver was new and did not know the roads very well and that they were going to dismiss him to make sure this type of incident did not happen again.

Now if you peel back all the layers you have to try and find the real problem.

Was it the delivery drivers fault….., really?

The person I spoke to said he was not given a GPS tracker although under normal circumstance they do use them. For the most part even if he did not have a GPS Tracker for what ever reason most people have smart phones so they would be able to find an address using Google Maps.

Instead of dismissing the driver they should have called him in to re-train, everyone should have the opportunity to have a second chance to redeem themselves.

The way I see it is the people at the top do not want problems and as my clipart shows rather than fix the problems, just eradicate them, meaning in this case, firing the driver.

Treat your staff well and they will treat you well.

If there is a problem and in the case of the driver not having a GPS Tracker to track the parcels then that is management problem not the driver.

How the parcel ended up at a random address is mind boggling, unless the driver simply dumped it? Apparantly the drivers are paid by the delivery and not by the hour, so if this particular driver the other day could not deliver in time he would have just delivered it to a random address, thats my way of thinking.

“The parcel in question that was delivered to a random persons address contained several hundred of pounds of high end top brand cosmetics I had bought for my daughter’s birthday”.

Lucky for Hermes Group there are still some honest people in this world.

If I were management I would make sure all undelivered parcels were brought back to the depot and passed onto some else to deliver. (perhaps drivers are penalised if they do not meet their daily quotas), who knows?

Even if the parcel is running late it is better than no tracked parcel at all and it is better a parcel being a day late, than the parcel going astray.

My daughter is now upset that someone lost their job, but with Hermes Group track record what do you expect if you see so many delivery drivers not doing their jobs properly one has to wonder are they being trained properly or is there an undelining problem that perhaps lies with management rather than the drivers.

At the end of the conversation I said I would not be recommending this company to anyone in business and the answer I received was:

“I have not seen anything good that company has done”, well from my own personal experience and the articles I have found the proof is in the pudding.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5f05fYB0XYjdc6pwhrCD5D9/hermes-deliveries

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8253825/Hermes-couriers-caught-sending-packages-straight-auction-houses-three-four-times-week.html

https://www.change.org/p/boris-johnson-government-investigation-into-hermes-parcels

If the company were doing their job properly they would not be having so many bad reviews, videos and bad reputation articles written about them, let alone be under investigation.

“A Happy Customer Will Tell 10 People Whilst An Unhappy Customer Will Tell The World”…

So it does not surprise me if what I read is that their workers are alledgedly paid less than the minimum wage obviously the workers and deliveries will not be up to scratch.

If I was being exploited I would most probably not do my job properly either!

Had I have known the following in advance I would have been able to recite what I found and I think I only touched the surface with this company:

Obviously I cannot dictate or choose what courier delivers a parcel to me when it is coming from a third party that I have ordered goods from, so only time will tell when the next Hermes parcel arrives and how well they deliver it.

If there is a problem with management then you have to look at the CEO is he treating his staff properly?

There could be an underlying problem. “If you treat your staff well, your staff will take care of you and your business“.

A company of this size should not be faceless, they should have a human version of a chat widget and they should have people answering their phone lines rather than prompts to email or back to their website.

They also should have someone on Messenger and Twitter, If I can do it there is absolutely no excuse for anyone else!

Sending Emails to CEO’s

Sending emails to ceo’s.

My Pet Peeve is that I have emailed some CEO’s directly of late and have other people email me back, not the CEO themselves.

If I have taken the trouble to seek a CEO’s email out, as some are difficult to get hold of, you would think they would have the decency to reply. Instead I get emails from other people underneath them.

If I wanted the opinion of another person I would no doubt have seeked them out also.

If I get emails directly, I do not portray myself to be “so very important” that I cannot answer my own emails. I most certainly would not employ someone to open my emails and filter what is worth me reading, I would somehow use the money paying someone instead to go use.

Yes I hear you, the CEO has created a job for someone, I will no doubt agree but surely making an employee more proactive and getting them to find more business is better than someone just responding to emails all day.

Why do CEO’s act like they are from another planet. Nearly all started out the same way as most of us and only a few were born with silver spoons in their mouths.

I am not talking about A-Lister Celebrities, who potentially have millions of fans emailing them, in which they may need help answering all the fan mail, I am talking about owners of companies, who also think they are untouchable and think because they have risen above the clouds they are essentially no longer human and have minions doing the work for them, whilst they sit back and reap the rewards.

To employ someone to respond to emails is basically lazy and pretentious, which I certainly I am not.

By getting someone else to respond on your behalf it like saying “Look at me, I am SO VERY IMPORTANT AND BUSY and you are an insignificant person to me, in which I will not respond directly and will get someone else to respond on my behalf”.

Obviously I have enough common sense to filter out what is in need of my attention and what is not. If on the other hand I had an email that may need investigating and I was too busy to do the work myself I would get someone to do the work and then write it out but I would still send it from my inbox as courtesy.

It really gets to me, the biggger the company the less they care about their customers and its all about how much money they make rather than seeing a customer happy.

“Without customers, followers and connections you would not be living in your fancy houses driving your fancy cars”.

I know enough that even if my emails have not been read by the CEO’s I always have my platform to fall back on if I get a lame response from someone underneath them. Never judge a book by its cover or underestimate anyone.

No matter how successful you are, remember where you came from and the strugggles and sacrifices you made getting where you are today”.

No matter how important you may be and even if you are one of the fortune 500 it is always good to show empathy to your followers, connections and customers, otherwise you have the misfortune of alienating yourself from the rest of the world. Showing people that you care will only entice more worshippers.

When contacting CEO’s evaluate is your email worthy of a response as CEO’s are busy people and although I made light of it earlier, they do not all sit in swanky restaurants sipping cocktails all day, they actually do work and jolly hard too, so you need to ask yourself does your email warrant a response.

I personally have eleven inboxes open on my phone and every few hours scroll and mark the ones that need my attention.

Finally, if all CEO’s thought they were untouchable we would not have LinkedIn and the ones that do and do not connect with you after you send them a message may find they have missed out on an opprtunity to get more business and added exposure and as I see it, thats their loss not mine.
