Minding my own business, I scrolled through my LinkedIn Notifications and noticed someone blatantly taking the proverbial p#ss out of a local pizza company. Curious about the topic of discussion and because I specialize in domain names I decided to join the conversation.
The entity happens to live in the same city as me in Cardiff Wales and runs a Marketing Agency, he pointed out that a domain namea pizza company was using has the word sh#t in the domain name. It did not have the actual word; it was the way the letters were merged and highlighted by my competitor that showed all the words in poor taste (no pun intended).
There is a saying “put your brain in gear before putting your mouth in motion” and for me, Monday morning was the start of my content writing week, and I should have thought twice before ending up arguing in a testosterone-heated discussion.
My competitor later admitted he copied the image and content from Reddit and then went on a defense that he has always supported the company and gave them free marketing…yer right.
My point was, never take the mick out of another business for the following reasons:
If you are on a network channel such as LinkedIn, someone you are connected to and who does not agree with your message may never use you in the future or pass work your way. You should never burn all your bridges. I wont be sending business their way.
If the business that was made a mockery of found out and the article went viral, there would be a certain amount of people that may not use the business, thinking if they cannot get their domain/branding right, it could look like they do not have much money to invest in a decent domain name so what is the quality of their pizzas going to be, are they scrimping on the ingredients too?
The business does not want to be seen by people that will join in on the banter. The business loses credibility.
It shows unprofessionalism.
You instantly lose trustworthiness and credibility.
The image below is proof in the pudding of what I was trying to say as low and behold a person actually commented about the innuendo the marketing agency implied about the domain name and the pizza guy.
I have redacted the person’s namethat made the comment.
So, although this competitor thought it was funny to take the p#ss out of a company. I quickly jumped on the bandwagon in the Pizza Companies’ defense.
I tried to point out if this was a photo of my business being circulated around social media and I had a questionable domain name (I am a domain brokerso that would never happen but if it did) and people were laughing at me I would if I was in the Pizza guy’s shoes, sue the entity that started it.
Not being a lawyer (solicitor), I used the wrong words, I said I would sue the entity for defamation of character but what I should have said was “I would sue them for Libel”.
Yes, this article came with trolls, and everyone seemed to be on the side of the competitor, congratulating him for his publicity stunt and stupidity.
However, for the pizza guy, his pizza domain will be stuck in my head, not for his delicious pizzas (as I have never tried them) but for his poor choice of the domain name and the article I read.
The one troll said any lawyer wanting to take this case on would also be taking the p#ss. I stopped interacting after that, as I did not want to add any further fuel to the fire. I defused the situation.

What is libel and slander?
Headlines show us that celebrities and the rich and famous go through libel or slander lawsuits – however, it’s also a big problem for businesses and in the most extreme cases can damage a business’s reputation to the point where it can no longer continue trading.
So, what should a business do if it finds out that a third party is making libelous or slanderous statements about it?
The fundamental differences between libel and slander are when somebody makes a false or untrue statement or claim about an individual or an organization that harms their reputation or good standing, verbally or in writing.
Both cases are classed as defamation although there is an important difference between the two – libel concerns written or drawn statements, and photographs, whilst slander concerns verbal defamatory words.
Defamation is said to have occurred simply when a statement is made that lowers somebody’s opinion of your business as a result of hearing or reading it.
A brand that cannot afford a high-quality domain name may be questioned if they have enough finances for their business and the quality of the products or services they sell.

Defamation is notorious on social media as I have found out and can often take place where individuals and customers are able to express their feelings about your business.
As an example:Price Chopper in the US saw a tweet that was criticizing them. They saw that the individual who had tweeted was employed by a business who they had some sort of commercial relationship with. And although the tweet wasn’t related to that relationship, and was on a personal account, they complained to the employing company that the tweet could jeopardize the relationship between the two companies, and they requested that the employer take some action against the tweeter.
What my competitor failed to see is even though he is one of my first connections on LinkedIn I am never going to send business his way or recommend him, as who is to say that he could not or would not slander me or anyone I sent his way further down the line? He lost credibility and trustworthiness posting that article on LinkedIn.
If your business finds itself in the unfortunate dilemma of having a libelous or slanderous statement made about them they need to collect all the evidence to make the case solid. It is very important to quickly assess the situation and, if necessary, take decisive action.
In most cases, no action will be taken as there is not enough evidence and witnesses may be reluctant to get involved. People are likely to hear the statement and/or may not take the comments seriously or back your corner.
One has to weigh up the pros and cons and if it is worth the money, time, and heartache of suing someone that may not have two cents (pennies) to rub together?
Sometimes causing unnecessary publicity from the lawsuit could actually further damage a business’s reputation and in such circumstances drawing attention to itself may actually do more harm than good.
If you feel this is the route to go through, are adamant you have enough evidence, and can prove you have lost business or will lose business, then the next step is to find a lawyer (solicitor).
Sometimes lawsuits can be avoided, and incidents nipped in the bud and mended what is broken by doing extensive PR Campaigns to show the business in good light.
In the case of the pizza guy, the best plan of action would be to change his domain name. He does not necessarily need to rebrand just have an exact match of searchable keywords and phrases in his domain name without the letter SH#T in the URL.
For the marketing company disrespecting his brand name, I would have done this differently if I were them, I would have reached out to the pizza guy and told him what people have noticed and are saying and then offer some relatable domain names, rather than making a mockery of his brand for a few likes and follows. (Low Blow PR Stunt).
What the marketing company (competitor) did was give me an idea to write an article that relates to my three sites: UK Domain Brokers Site and also the Cardiff Solicitors Site as well as the Marketing Journal and it gave me the opportunity to contact the pizza guy myself with a couple of domain names and offer him some marketing...thank you.
Legal action can be costly and time-consuming and there is no guarantee that the outcome, hence if people are laughing about a brand name behind the owner’s back, someone needs to step in and defend them.
A pizza guy may be an expert in baking pizzas and may not have the knowledge of SEO and Marketing, so PR stunt or not I will not be giving this marketing company any work or recommendations.
What if I need to take legal action?
To make a claim against libel or slander you must start legal proceedings within 12 months of the defamatory statement being made otherwise you will be legally unable to take any action against the other party.
How can I avoid making libelous or slanderous statements myself?
The best course of action is like I said earlier putting your brain in gear before putting your mouth in motion and quite simply ‘think before you speak!’ Be extremely careful about making accusations about another party, especially if you cannot provide proof that what you are saying is true.
Never make innuendos such as the marketing company did, and highlighted the letters SH#T in the domain name. This implies the guy’s pizzas are inferior. Sometimes it is better to keep your opinions to yourself.
I have not shared the previous article written by my competitor purposely as I do not want to draw further attention to something that should have been avoided providing the person posting the article had one ounce of common sense, which in my opinion he did not.
Simply highlighting the letters SH#T in the domain name was disrespectful to the domain owner even though he could have chosen a better domain.
Who wins at the end of this? I do of course because I have secured two exact match domain names that will help the pizza guy with his marketing and advertising?
I wonder what the competitor’s clients would think if this was brought to their attention, after all, my competitor has his clients on his landing page and I am sure it would not look good for him if he was seen to be disrespecting another company.
When publicly speaking about a third party one needs to be careful not to say anything derogatory or offensive, because making statements can leave you open to being sued for defamation or libel.

Why Settle For Second Best (Twitter) When You Can Have Likes.com?
Elon Musk is in the news because he wants to acquire “Twitter.com”.
OK I get it, he wants his own social media platform that he can control, but what if there was an easier way and he had something everyone is doing for the most part and that is getting likes to social media posts. Imagine having a domain name called www.likes.com
With the right people to build a platform, Elon would own a social media app that could potentially blow everyone else out of the water, it is not exactly rocket science.
Having a team dedicated to the platform, from website designers and app developers to digital marketers and social media influencers will be quicker to launch than building a colony on Mars. He would have to employ a special ops department specifically for the project. This project would be bigger than anything he could imagine and he would have to have offices in multiple regions. This would need planning from who would build the platform to the staff that would have to run it on a daily basis. This would create jobs in multiple countries.
If I were in Elon’s shoes I would build something Grander than Twitter or Meta/Facebook and let the other social media platforms hurtle into cyberspace.
With all the money he is expected to pay to get control of ‘Twitter’ I would save him the money and the trouble and get him to build something himself, rather than squabble over ownership of a platform I personally very rarely use @ukdomainbrokers, although Elon @elonmusk is pretty active on there.

Content Writing helps to engage the visitor and encourages them to come back, not only this content writing, written on a continuous basis helps to rank your website and gives domain authority.
I have in the past successfully written posts and used the following technique I am about to share with you to get domain names indexed and ranked.
Content writing is an essential part of getting business because it draws prospective clients to your website.
A website that is static and does not have regular content on its pages will never move up the ladder in terms of the ranking of domain authority, in fact, may eventually start disappearing. The name of the game is to get your website on the first page of search engines and keep it there, whilst not letting your content become stale. No one wants to keep coming back to a boring website, especially if you are promoting services rather than selling products.
Search engines prefer to see websites that have new content. As an example, I have a static site called www.ukwebsitedesigners.co.ukand at one point it was on page 5 of search results so because I do not have a blog for this particular static website, just a page titled blogs. Hence what I have started doing is adding backlinks to the articles I have previously written and published on my other blogs. This creates content for my static site whilst boosting my articles from my other sites. You do not have to have to use your own articles but publish links that have high Moz Domain Authority to other sites relevant to your niche.
The best way of attracting customers is to create quality content that can encourage people to read your articles.
Simply posting and forgetting your articles does not help, one needs to go a step further and share your content on social media platforms, groups, and pages. Granted providing you do your SEO correctly your article will be indexed and ranked but it does not bring traffic in quickly. One needs to do networking and share articles to email lists and directly to your connections. Depending on your budget you can also consider PPC advertising to boost traffic but always try the free options first. With my strategies, I have not had to pay for PPC advertising for many years and have saved myself hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Having an exact match searchable keyword or phrase domain name plays a small part in search engine optimization and it is the content writing by far that attracts visitors.
Usually writing something that businesses and people can relate to and offering problem-solving strategies will bring people to you.

Remember a static site will sit in the same place and may even move down the ladder as more websites are created if you do not do content marketing. It amazes me how many websites that have not branded themselves to the extent that they hire PR and Marketing/Advertising Agencies wonder why they are not getting enough business in through the door is because they are not offering something that is engaging and catching the audience’s attention.
Your website should be on the first couple of pages of Google primarily in the No 1 spot and you should talk about your business with the world just like you would have weekly staff meetings. People get bored of the same content all the time. You have to write quality content so the search engines can see there is something new about your website.

Not so long ago go someone on the first page of Google because he was in the process of building a website and needed an immediate online presence. I successfully did that and as a consequence gave him a backlink that gave him domain authority when his website got launched by a third party he was using. I mentioned his name and his website throughout the body of the content not only in the header title and performed SEO.

To think 99% of the population wants to not only survive but live a happy life, why is it that the powers that be want to squeeze every last ounce of happiness out of us?
Nobody wants to struggle to pay bills or worry about where the next meal is going to come from. Yet in reality, it is happening.

3.Caring – People only care if they are directly affected by something or someone. This could be their beliefs in which they would be advocates or for people that they know such as family, friends, and sometimes even co-workers. It is the social connection people have with one another that allows them to show emotion to another person. The only other time people will care is they are on the job and must, i.e. Doctors & Nurses, Firefighters, Care-workers (who are doing good for society as a whole rather than getting personal), or if a person randomly witnesses someone that needs their help like for example if someone was injured or dying. I once did asocial experimentto get support from my family for my business and not one person bothered sharing or interacting. I drew the conclusion they did not want me to succeed.

4. (Robbing Peter to Pay Paul).
Around 5.2 million people claimed universal credit as of September 2021, a decrease on the record-high six million recorded at the beginning of the year but still a marked increase compared to pre-Covid levels, which were around three million.
Anti-poverty experts welcomed a £20 weekly increase in payments for those claiming universal credit (UC) and working tax credits, introduced by the government at the start of the lockdown last year.
But the government cut payments back to pre-Covid levels at the beginning of October, despite widespread condemnation. That is a deduction of £80 per month and with everything rising including food and fuel costs how on earth is the government expecting people to survive???
If people were struggling before the increase what makes the government think they are not struggling after the decrease?
How many people are at breaking point or have been driven over the edge?
Does the government care that some people are in sheer distress and do know how to manage their money or know-how to survive? Yet the NON-DOMs of this world can get away without paying taxes. If the NON-DOMs did not hoard money just like the millionaires and billionaires and actually had wage caps the world would be a better place.
Social Experiment.
5. Social Experiment – I am always testing how well my articles do and my social media marketing efforts and thought to do a social experiment to see how well I would compete with a high profile person sharing their posts on LinkedIn, obviously I do not have the same amount of followers as this said individual but looking at his previous posts, for me I did not do too bad, in fact, I did better than some posts his entourage had written in the past.
So I have come to the conclusion I can easily be a social media manager for the posts and articles that this individual churns out but I do not get the same income, anywhere near in fact, to what these people get. I am certainly not going to beg or go cap in hand. I am confident though because I did share a post the powers that be zoned in on me, so they will know who I am talking about. Put it this way, he is very high up the ladder with platinum blonde hair and talks Queen’s English.My point is if I can get this article to be seen, I am open to opportunities to be hired for my services. such as content writing and social media management.
Grim Outlook
6. Grim Outlook – Russia is condemning the west and has threatened food shortages because of all the sanctions including exporting wheat. It is being predicted that we will be like Venezuela where families have had to make grim choices to survive. Venezuela has faced what some consider “the Americas’ greatest single humanitarian crisis.” The nation’s economy and the political structure collapsed even though it possesses the world’slargest known petroleum reserves. More than 5 million people fled the country and an estimated 91 percent of those who remain life in poverty. Therefore what is the future outcome for the poor who will have difficulty putting food on the table?
How does the government expect people to survive?
I am concerned for the people that will have serious mental health issues because of the powers that be playing God with people’s lives.
Everyone on this planet is here to survive and to be happy. If you take away people’s happiness then you take away people’s reasons for living.
I read all these online websites, white papers, and jargon about suicide but all it is is black pixels on a white background, all these people that go around stating they are experts would be useless and powerless in talking someone out of suicide. It is all noise, smoke, and mirrors.

7. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens to spark a global food crisis, as simultaneous disruptions to harvests and global fertilizer production are driving up food prices and sending economic shock waves throughout the world.
Ukraine still has some 20 million tonnes of wheat and corn left to export from the 2021-22 season that cannot be exported because Russia is blockading ports on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, leaving 100 foreign vessels stranded.
8. Depression – I will be the first to admit it, I suffer from depression and have done so for many years. I have managed it to the best of my abilities, but occasionally I will have my dark days. Whilst writing about this I write with a heavy heart, this is NOT how we are supposed to live and this is not how I am supposed to live.
Do the powers that be, forget that we came to the earth with nothing and we will leave with nothing. So why be Greedy?
The powers that be obviously do not have a conscious.
Will the people that have caused all the atrocities to live fruitful lives or will they come back onto this earth to suffer a fate worse than hell? I believe they will come back to earth and suffer. Have they not thought that Karma can send them to earth to suffer in their next life. Yes, I hear you there will be the ones that do not believe in God or life after death, but what if their belief system was wrong and we are spiritual beings in physical bodies and that when we die we turn into energy or we teleport into different dimensions, (Quantum Entanglement) or worse still come back to earth to suffer another 80/90 years?
Do you think it is a coincidence there is only 1% of the richest people on this planet or is it there is 1% of pure evil? This then shows there are 99% of good people are being treated badly and are maybe only on this planet to be given a second chance and do good for the world. I for one would never want to be categorized be part of the 1% wealthy and would never want that sort of wealth, in fact, I am on the opposite side of the spectrum, yes I want my own home, have a nice car, heal my mind, body, and soul so that I can travel the world whilst I am still on this planet, but other than that I just want to live a happy, peaceful and happy life without any worries.

Not everyone has a strong mind., not everyone knows how to survive and some try to drown their sorrow in alcohol or take recreational drugs, or someone simply just give up?
I will admit I have had suicidal thoughts in the past over different life-changing events, but somehow have found the courage to battle on.
I have never forgotten the people that hurt me, tried to cause hardship, criticize me, or humiliate me. I may have forgiven, but never forgotten.
At one point I felt I was in a war zone of my own. I am here today not because of any support workers or from friends or family because the few that knew what happened in my life have not been there for me. I am only starting to tell my story now and I have learned one thing in my life, never rely on anyone and never tell them all your secrets and be careful who you trust or befriend. I am here because I know I am on a mission, but I do sometimes question my strength.
I am slowly starting to heal. With what is going on with the world I am now thinking that the only thing that is left for me is neuroplasticity, learn it, practice it and teach it. New research by Money and Mental Health Policy Institute, has found that 2.5million people with mental health problems who fell into debt during a pandemic considered suicide.
The sad truth is people commit suicide because of debt.
People who are unhappy, helpless, and scared, cannot cope with the same thing day in and day out and nothing they do to make things better materializes so one day they lose the will to live and the people that suffer after they go are their friends, family, and the cycle continues.
The way I see things is if you want to succeed in this world is one of two things, (1) you either have to rub shoulders with the people that matter and offer value or (2) have something that other people can relate to.
I look at these big agencies and the billionaires that own them yet profiling the CEOs they do not have a large social media gathering which makes me wonder what they did to get where they are today considering I am working at the same speed, probably doing the same job with a larger following than them, minus their payrolls?
