40 Ways To Get More Business.

40 Ways to Get More Business.

I have decided today to take a leaf out of my own book and practice what I preach.

With that said I am going to develop a directory of businesses and forums on my site where people can come and hang out. It is in the beta stage at the moment, watch this space.

There is a saying ‘If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain‘ arises from the story of Muhammad, as retold by Francis Bacon, in Essays, 1625: Mahomet called the Hill to come to him. … If the mountain will not come to Mahomet, Mahomet will go to the mountain.

In other words get people to come to you, rather than you going to them, moving one stone at a time you will eventually move the mountain.

  1. Design and market a business blog. In fact, I have several and use them as part of my SEO link wheel. Once you have decided what your blog is about you need to have categories of different topics people actively search for and want help with. Tip use keywords in your categories.
  2. Guest Blog on other people’s blogs. This will create backlinks back to your default site. Ask bloggers in your LinkedIn contacts if they would be happy to publish your articles. Find Blogs similar to your niche and gust blog posts there.
  3. Write posts on groups and social media pages. It is a good idea to also have your own group and pages.
  4. For Online Social Media advertising: you can have a Video or Squeeze pages which can help increase your total number of conversions while providing you with enough information needed to nurture leads into sales. This applies to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  5. Adwords: obviously you need a budget for this and Google often do promotional incentives for first-time users such as getting £75.00 free credit if you spend £25.00
  6. LinkedIn Ads: are similar to Google Ads the only difference is your LinkedIn ads will only be visible on LinkedIn. However, because LinkedIn is a Business Platform this is by far one of the best ways to connect and network.
  7. Offer online courses: and sell your courses on sites like UDEMY. Obviously, the best place to sell it is on your own websites and social media platforms. Put together a “how to” course and teach people a trade.
  8. Local Workshops: are a good way to network and get like-minded people together. This can be done online although pending lockdown restrictions and regulations this can also be a physical place to meet.
  9. Business Listings: if you are already registered with Google My Business you should make Google your friend, and they will track you and rank you faster.
  10. List your business with all the main business directories, like Yell, and Yelp. 192 etc.
  11. List your business on Classified websites: such as Cardiff Free Ads. Just type into Google search, Classified ads and you will get your answer through the search results.
  12. List your Business on Business Forums and Community websites.
  13. Post articles on Quora and Reddit.
  14. Post Articles on all your Social Media Pages: consistently otherwise people lose interest and the more times your brand is visible the more popular you will become.
  15. Talk At Events: If you like talking, why not speak at events, and talk about your product, brand, and story?
  16. Host a Conference: get people to come to you, and get them networking.
  17. Partner with a Competitor: that way you can help each other.
  18. Partner with a Non-Competing Business: that may benefit your skills.
  19. Go to Networking Events: Hosted by Other people, this can be online and physical.
  20. Ask for Referrals: Start with family and friends and ask them to share your business cards and social media shares with their connections, you will be surprised how many people will get to see your business. Getting referrals and utilizing your network can be a quick and easy way to score more client projects.
  21. Set Up a Suppliers Page: on your blog/website and get people to advertise. (For example if you are an electrician advertise businesses that sell electrical equipment or if you are a hair salon then haircare products).
  22. Set up an Affiliate Marketing Program: and get other people to promote your business in exchange for a commission.
  23. Start a Competition: and get people to enter their details for a chance to win a prize.
  24. Giveaways: give an ebook away about your niche in exchange for an email, everyone loves to get something for free. Give branded merchandise away.
  25. Consider Outbound Marketing: and contact people that may be interested in your product or service.
  26. Editorial Advertising: put an ad in a newspaper or periodical.
  27. Leaflet/pamphlet advertising: and post them in your neighbourhood.
  28. Notice Boards in Supermarkets and Coffee Shops: leave your business card or small leaflet. Leave your merchandise, keyfobs, pens, hand sanitisers, pin badges, balloons, and mini notebooks (This depends on your advertising budget).
  29. Wear Branded Cothing: that has your website address visible in bold, this is advertising on the go.
  30. Design a Magazine: and get businesses to advertise.
  31. Have an Advertising Banner on your Vehicle: you can get magnetic banners.
  32. Gift your Family, Friends, and Neighbours with Branded Merchandise: such as fridge magnets, pens, key fobs, mini notebooks, and branded facemasks. Give things that people will use rather than throw away.
  33. Give a Trial Offer: for your product or service. If you give something for free you are giving people the opportunity to test and trust you.
  34. Sponsor an event or auction off something using advertising, and marketing strategies.
  35. Get your Brand in the News: and get journalists to write about you.
  36. Video Marketing: you need to be professional and make your videos top-notch. I do not mean tik tok style. If it looks like you have spent money on video advertising it will look like you are successful.
  37. Vlogging: this a good way to have brand awareness, and get your staff to contribute. Have a video of the day in the life of a driving instructor or graphic designer etc. People like to have some sort of idea of how you manage a business which may give them inspiration.
  38. Influencers: are people that use social media platforms to promote, their products or other people’s products and services. Hire models and take photos and videos of them using your products or services and then share on all the platforms or get influencers to promote your products or services for you.
  39. Write a Book about your Business: or if you do not know where to start hire a writer that will write the book for you and then send it to businesses that may find your book useful. (You could have a book on the day in the life of a electrician or hairdresser…).
  40. Do a Publicity Stunt, publicity stunts are organised events designed to attract the public’s attention to the event’s organizers or their cause. Be unique and amaze your audience with a well-thought-through campaign.

Final Thoughts.

Nothing happens overnight, however, if you concentrate on social media and post banner ads eventually people will like and share and even buy. Be patient, stay focused and be consistent.

How To Increase Business & Followers.

I noticed today a post on LinkedIn from someone that was connected with me but was not an internet marketer per-se, stating “How to increase followers from 30K to 225K followers” in five minutes per day by commenting #yes

The first thing that came to mind is he has no authority to advise considering he is and what I saw was a clever click bait hack and nothing more. This is a disappointment when people are genuinely looking for answers and come across someone just looking out for him/herself, simply having people click the post for the post to go no where.

Therefore I have taken upon myself to write this post to help individuals increase followers/business. This method can be applied to all social media platforms:

1: Optimize Your Profile Pages, optimise your cover photo and also your profile picture. Make your profile picture look professionally done. Remember to be aware of your background in the photo. A picture says a thousand words. Try to get a professional head shot done at a local photographic studio (when they are open again) or get a friend to take a photo without any distractions in the backdrop.

2: Start with connecting with people, most social media platforms say only connect with the people you know, but what if you have a genuine enquiry, the best thing is to find their email addresses to write to them first before sending them a connection request, especially of you do not know them.

3: Write articles on your pages and link back to articles you have written on your blogs and share these articles with your connections.

4: Make your post intriguing only give a little away and entice the reader to click you post for more information.

5. Share photos on your social media platform pages, instagram is good for this or do infographics and add titles to your posts.

6: Be creative and publish videos, add captivating content that people will be willing to watch. Add humour, funny videos attract peoples attention.

7: Go Live. Livestreaming is not for everyone but if you are happy broadcasting an event or milestone as long as it has good content you will get people watching.

8: Advertise your brochures and share your pdf’s on your business pages.

9: Use hashtags when closing your post text.

10: Don’t forget to tag your connections and companies that may find your post useful.

11: Give your followers valuable advice. Everyone is a guru these days and some can be better at it than others but you only have one chance of being an expert in your niche and the more followers you have the more well known you will become.

12: RSS feeds are a good way of finding trending posts, create “breaking news” posts that perhaps people outside your region may not have heard of. Do not copy posts word for word as that is called plagiarism and you will be penalised by search engines. For me I always use one of my blogs to write articles which I then share with my connections and although I may read something I will scramble it into my own words, even giving my own perspective.

13: Be consistant and active everyday on all your social media platforms. I am perhaps the world worst as I only seem to hang out on LinkedIn because most of my work is B2B but recently I have been asked to do B2C hence I need to alter my mind set and concentrate on Facebook pages and groups more.

14: Create viral posts this could be something like a give away or a competition with a deadline.

15: Join groups on your social media platforms.

16: Create your own groups for your different niches.

17: Create your own business pages on all your social media platforms, keep your professional and personal pages seperate.

18: If you have an event coming up or thinking of creating one, social media is a good place to advertise and market yourself.

19: Once you have a following on your social media platforms do reach out and collaborate with your connections.

20: Set the buttons on your profiles to a “Follow” button.

21: Create a call to action in every post.

22: Promote your social media profiles everywhere, including your website, blogs and email signatures.

23: Cross promote your profile on your other social media channels. For me I have on default business card website that I point people to, this saves time typing out each social media platform I am connected to.

24: Pay per click advertising campaigns are not only good with Google & Bing but they are also is a good way of connecting with people through your social media platforms. Facebook & Instagram is a place where you can connect B2C, this is good if you are targeting a specific category or people. You can fine tune your specifications to the location, age, gender and interests.

25: Try to update your profile page frequently, a stagnant page is boring and will show your audience that you are frequesnt at updating. If you have new services, always keep them updated.

26: Always reply to comments, no matter how trivial, ignoring a comment makes the person who wrote it worthless. Obviously if you have hundreds of thousand of comments pick out the ones that stand out and thank everyone in a generic comment.

27: When people share your posts and pages, thank them.

28: Get your biggest fans to endorse you, this applies to LinkedIn more so than any other social media channel and visa versa, you will be amazed how may people who you endorse will endorse you back. The same goes with review ask your customers to write a review about your brand.

29: If you have businesses that wish you to promote them, do offer to write recommendations, this gives you exposure aswell as exposure for your client, but if the businesses wish more exposure you could offer other marketing strategies which you could potentially charge for the service. I do this free of charge by adding banner ads to all my social media pages and groups I am connected on. This is short lived advertising but for a permanent fixture on my blogs I charge a monthy/yearly fee.

30: Exact match searchable keyword and phrases are so important not only in your domain name but on your website, meta tags and social media pages. When choosing a Facebook page for example use words that people would use to search for your product or service rather than your unknown brand name. Your brand name will become popular over time and it will not be an overnight success unless you spend a lot of money on advertising, I just do not mean Google Ads I mean in publications, newspapers, radio and TV.

31: Make your social media profile searchable, make them public.

32: When commenting on other peoples posts, do not get personal and do not get into trolling arguments if someone does not see the value of your comment. Be professional and do not sell things on peoples posts. You could add a backlink to your company as a signature or hashtag but thats it, don’ be the pushy sales person.

33: Give incententives to get people to share your posts. This could be a free e-book or a discount voucher.

35: Become an influencer.

36. Become a public speaker.

37: Create educational webinars, podcasts, tutorials, use youtube and share your content on all social media platforms.

38. Create a SEO link wheel, of your websites, blogs and social media platforms.

39. Start a blog and add RSS feeds so that in engages people’s interests.

40. Have a subscribe widget or pop up so that you can capture peoples emails and then send them updates or newsletters. Do not install the popup until a person is about to exit your site and not before. I believe it is off putting to have a subscribe popup the moment you attempt to access a site. You need to earn my trust and loyalty before I give my email away.

41. Integrate a chat widget into your websites and blogs so that when visitors visit your sites you can engage with them.

42: Guest blog on other notable websites.

43: Become a podcast interviewer. Invite people to join you in a discussion.

44. Write a book about you and your niche and publish your services and products.

45. Leave business cards on noticeboards in supermarkets, cafes (when they open again).

46. Make flyers and post them through peoples doors.

47. Consider giving out freebies, such as buy one get one free.

48. Start a competition.

49. Consider getting people to market you using affiliate links. https://rakutenadvertising.com/en-uk/

50. Advertise in Magazines and in Newspapers.

51. Offer to do something for free, this could be free web hosting in my case or free marketing or promotion.

52. Wear promotional clothing.

53. Give away promotional merchandise.

54. Word of mouth advertising get all your family and friends to promote you and get their family and friends and before you know it you have a network of connections.

55. Do outbound marketing, like picking up the phone and calling or writing snail mail letters.

56. Enlist the help of other advocates in your industry, find a mentor.

57. As your employees to engage in your social media pages, make them contributors.

58. Post your articles at ceratin times of the day. I find that during working hours people are busy getting on with business. So you have to pick times that appeal to your network browsing times, otherwise you posts may not get a look in. However according to LinkedIn’s their busiest hours are in the morning and midday from Monday to Friday. This will ensure your post to get maximum reach.

59. Add multiple admins to you pages and ask your colleagues to help you.

60. Join all the social media platforms and follow companies and people of interest.

Persuasive Marketing Strategies Explained

Persuasive Marketing Strategies Explained.

Persuasive Marketing Strategies Explained.

Ever heard the saying “he could sell snow to the Eskimos“, this one happens to be my favorite but there are also others see below.

The meaning is the description of someone who is a clever and persuasive salesperson, such that they could sell something to people who have no need or use for it. As in the case of ‘Belle Delphine’ ‘GameGirl Bath Water’ which is trending right now and how she made $10M selling bath water to her followers. No, I am not going to promote her water 🤣.

(The phrase ‘selling ice to the Eskimo’s alludes to the various indigenous peoples of the traditionally cold, snowy northern circumpolar regions of the globe, who would have no shortage of and or no need to buy) snow or ice. However even Eskimos would not say no to Gelato or Sorbets for dessert, just a thought I wonder 🤔.

Other terms uses for sales techniques are:

  1. Sell ice to the Eskimos
  2. Sell a cape to Superman.
  3. Sell hay to a farmer.
  4. Sell wood to a forest.
  5. Sell religion to the Pope.
  6. Sell underwear to a nudist.
  7. Sell rope to a free climber.
  8. Sell a two-wheeled bike to a unicyclist.
  9. Sell crutches to an Olympic sprinter.
  10. Sell a cage to a lion.

“My take on this is that a web designer contacts a web designer to see if they need help building a website or an internet marketer contacts an internet marketer to see if they need any help with internet marketing”.

TYPES OF MARKETING STRATEGIES.

There are in fact 41 different types of Marketing of which I will touch on persuasive marketing in this post.

  4. Digital Marketing
  5. Search Engine Marketing

  39. Cause Marketing
  40. Controversial Marketing
  41. Field Marketing

Depending on how you view this if you try and sell a product or service to someone that may not necessarily need it, this is called persuasive emotional marketing, such as Coke Cola for example:

PERSUASIVE MARKETING

PERSUASIVE MARKETING

Persuasion marketing is a marketing strategy that manipulates the human mind into thinking they desire the ideology of the product or service that is being marketed. It is the psychology of the power of persuasion that alters our emotions. When advertising companies use this strategy to make the product or service desirable going as far as to seduce the audience into thinking they need it.

‘Belle Delphone’ used her body as a tool to persuade her audience that the water she bathed in was a sexual extension of herself.

Many have criticized that at $22 dollar a bottle, no one in their right mind should have bought it. But people have fetishes and the porn industry is big business, She gained her audience by setting up an ‘only fans’ account where you pay a paid subscription to join and the models show parts of their bodies in exchange for money.

FINAL THOUGHTS!

I remember years ago in Glastonbury Somerset in the UK, Mud being sold on eBay as well as Britney Spears’s hair when she had a meltdown and shaved all her hair off. Glastonbury for everyone that does not know is a town in southwest England. It’s known for its ancient and medieval sites, many rich in myth. Believed to be King Arthur’s burial place.

Providing there is a market you can sell pretty much anything to anyone nowadays if you advertise your product or service well, regardless if it is by traditional methods or digital.

Grow your followers and you will have a platform to sell.

Emotional Marketing For Coke~Cola

Just as I mentioned effective marketing strategies in my previous post, I want to highlight how big corporations use marketing strategies to sell their products. By glamorising the product to be a trend this is the way the products sell.

Personally speaking I do not buy the soda not because I am against the high sugar content or sweetner substitute but more so as it is way too gassy for me and sickly sweet. It actually tastes like there someone has over done it with the sugar and for me I will not drink it even if you paid me.

However their clever way of glamorising the product will never hinder the average person from buying it. This is called emotional marketing it gives the person a reason the buy it because it is a set trend.

The only way people may take notice is if there are health warning labels similar to tobacco labeling warning the user should they use the product there are health risks. Why this has not been done with Coke~Cola I do not know as Obesity and Diabeties is on the increase so rather than making people more aware of the risks involved these companies at the end of the day only care about the $$$ signs and profit margins and nothing else.

If you want to see more please watch the following video of a journalist confronting the CEO of Coke~Cola about the high sugar content in the drinks.

Perhaps someone should start a petition to make health warning signs rather than labelling how much sugar is in a bottle or can or adding sugar tax. Obviously that has not worked.

Until you have health warning signs people will be oblivious to the ingredients even though they are be labelled with the quantities of sugar. If you put a picture of a morbidly obese person on the product similar to what tobacco companies are doing showing damaged lungs, people then may take notice. It is all about the way you market a product and if you want people to buy it or not.

If the people suddenly stopped buying or bought less this would damage to economy hence by adding sugar tax it is a way of saying well we have done our bit for society and if society chooses to buy our product there is nothing else we can do and I am not talking about the company itself but more so the government that should do more to decrease obesity and diabetes, afterall they increased to price of cigarettes and that did not help so why will increasing to cost of bottles of coke make a difference? It won’t until people realise there are health risks.

Judge for yourself:

There are two links one a youtube video and another a LinkeIn post.

LA Realtor Marketing on TV

Selling Luxury Properties

Watching my favourite streaming channel a new series of realtors in ‘Beverly Hill’s’ was launched on Friday and watching the gorgeous girls strut their stuff whilst selling multi million dollar properties a couple of things that were said made me look into their webiste.

One thing one of the directors said was that he was no longer wanting to market one of the properties as he had done everything he could including listing it on ‘Forbes’.

So I did a quick scan and found he has no header title in his website this is crucial in order for people to find you for the search terms. The other thing I found he is not using exact match searchable keywords in his domain name. So although he may have had ‘Forbes’ & ‘The New York Times’ to advertise the property he needed to get the property in front of a wider audience actively looking for luxury properties. What about all the rest of the Billionaires & Millionaires arounnd the world?

So even though his TV show is a clever marketing strategy he also needs to create a SEO link wheel and not rely on one website. His website is his brandname which is the Godfather for his business but he also need to create other channels. Also not every Millionaire or Billionaire watches ‘Netflix’ and understands the language.

What do millionaires look for when they are looking for luxury and how do they search for what they want that is the question?

There are plently of ways to advertise and I have a whole list of ways to find a targeted audience anywhere around the world including video marketing on the correct channels. I personally am connected with many groups and individuals on Instagram aswell as LinkedIn and I have not seen one video selling any luxury properties. One just needs to research where to advertise. TV Ads are sometimes more effective than a TV Show.

What if the prospective buyer did not type certain keywords such as “Beverly Hills Properties” and typed in for example “LA Luxury Properties” but the said realtor was not on the first page for these search terms, this would obviously means that the realtor could potentially loose business.

So it takes a person over the pond to explain this when in reality he also owns a website design company, so they should in theory know what I am saying.

I love the show btw but someone needs to show the directors what they can do to improve their sales.

One sometimes needs to think outside the box instead of concentrating on the search terms: luxury living, luxury homes. luxury realtors, how about using the keywords, millionaires or billionaires instead and work your advertising strategies round these words also.

Constant marketing especially on LinkedIn is a must.

Its amazing who you can connect with if you try….

AI & Robot Domain Names

Evolution to Ape to Man to Robot

AI & Robot Domain Names

I read a vast amount of business news and can honestly say I have not heard of any AI or Robot manufacturers in Wales (Cymru) but you never know when the evolution of Robots increases by 900% you will find most businesses one-way or another will be using the technology if not also building it.

I wrote a post on the subject on my other blog today about how the likes of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk have jumped on the bandwagon and are heavily investing in this technology.

If you are into stocks and shares you should do a bit of research and see which companies you need to invest in. Obviously, I am not qualified or know the first thing about stock markets but is worth noting that if Billionaires are doing it you should follow them (not literally) but on social media and in the news and on all the financial websites to see what they are investing in.

This is my tip for the day and once I sell my domain names I will no doubt be able to invest in this technology also.

Due Diligence Lesson

Feeling Livid Today!!!

The lesson I have learnt today is regardless if you are doing business for $1, £1 or $1,000,000.00, £1,000,000.00 alway and I mean ALWAYS perform Due Diligence with a person you have never met and is not local to you, whereby you cannot check them out through Companies House if you are in the UK or physically pay them a visit. Each country has their own Company House Database.

What I mean by this regardless if they pass Companies House Verification they still may be scammers, as I have just got off the phone from a person claiming to be a New York Attorney that said his client wanted to sue me for selling artwork that belonged to him.

However upon trying to do my detective work this person is not on LinkedIn and his telephones do not match nor does his website work (times out).

Even with passports and other forms of ID one cannot know for certain if the person one is dealing with on the other end is a fraudster or not. Even if their Company is Verified does not stop them being unscrupulous. I had one person that had his passport cloned and was visible online. So there is no way for certain to know you are dealing with the actual person unless you phone the head office and perform detective work online.

I thought by checking with companies house that the said individual was kosha and it seemed that he was until all the inventory he was selling at the beginning part of the year mysteriously disappeared off his site where by he failed to update me. This in turn has put egg on my face as I told the Attorney that the artwork could be found on my client’s site and it is no longer there. The emails I have which I never deleted will prove he was selling the artwork….

So on the safe side I have taken the website down and will not be doing anything in future with this site other than selling the domain.

With this in mind I had to pulled the whole website down and all the inventory that belonged to the two muppets that I have been dealing with, with one of them still in my LinkedIn connections.

But then again if something does not sit right you should leave it out, as my gut feeling was like many months ago when I worked tirelessly to get leads for one of the muppets only to be told the leads I had given him were not good enough and did I get a penny for my trouble?, of course I did not. I even had his organ grinder telling me I was over thinking. If something does not sit well with me I will air my grieviences. This is also another lesson when someone asks you to find leads which are bon-a-fide leads and you find them, invoice the person for your time finding the leads as they could say the leads were no good even though they were, just to get out of paying you. Get the money upfront for finding marketing leads.

I have to say I must be soft in the head as I let someone else this month take advantage of me, by me designing a logo with about 20 changes, I also built him a website but made the mistake of giving him a cooling off period where after he had agreed on the amount of pages he then decided to move the goal posts and increase the pages for the same price. So when I mentioned there would be a price increase he decided to use the get out clause. So from now on I am never going to do that again. Do not use a get out clause for web design. Take a set up fee upfront instead and then invoice once the client is happy with the site.

I have since looked at the muppet’s site and it has been changed only to show bitcoin and cryotocurrency by coincidence, yet I have all the emails that he sent that I can forward to the owner of the artwork to prove the muppet was selling the artwork and not me per se. I was merely marketing what he told me to market. These pieces of art one could not ask for proof of receipt if you get my meaning if you know what pieces of art I was marketing.

This now shows me in bad light even though I did not know that the inventory was not legit, like why would I know or how would I know as these were high ticket assets and I trusted both muppets.

My reputation is on the line because two idiots whom seem to think it is ok to take advantage of people. “You have had your fun if you are reading this now so it’s now my turn and I will no longer be associated with you”…

I am a mere web designer and internet marketer but at least it shows my marketing skills reached the people that needed to be reached even though the inventory was debatable. So what has this taught me other than avoid all idiots at all costs? and that is I am good at my job even though I could do better by doing more to protect myself in future from people who can cause no end of problems.

Trust no one !

My lesson today is perform Due Dilligence with people regardless if the are selling £1 or £1M especially if you do not know them and if it means you loose the lead in the process, you would have saved yourself trouble in the future. Also do due dilengence on the inventory (especiall high ticket assets) as it could have legal implications.

I am sick and tired of the scammers out there and I will name these people if push comes to shove.

“I am fuming and words fail me today regarding this”.

Good job I never performed SEO on this particular website, imagine the digital footprint I would have had to delete and merely used it as an online business card/tool which I have now taken down and all associated links.

To the person whom contacted me today you will see the website is now taken down and to the muppets that got me into hot water, karma has a way of paying you back !!

Regardless who was trying to scam whom, I have knocked the nail on the head and severed all ties with everyone assoicated with this inventory.

Fuming!!!

Faceless – No Empathy Companies

New Profile Image.

Companies that do not have human interaction are cowards if you ask me. Any company offering public services should show they care and have empathy for their customers by having online chat at least.

Companies that are too large for their boots and think they can play God with people should not exist, yet they do. I always think if I was a search engine or social media platform how would I behave. I would have online chat at least. I would obviously prompt people to try and find the answers via the FAQ forum themselves and if after that they still needed to ask a question I would help them.

But these corporate gorilla’s just do not care.

If I offered a public service I would not discriminate in order not to face litigation proceedings against me.

Do not pick an choose who you want to serve.

I refer to my previous post about corporate gorillas who can do what they want with you and if they do not want you to do business with them for whatever reason they will make it extremely difficult for you. Yet if these companies which are owned by the public then they should not discriminate but they do.

So what is this rant over today, well I will tell you, although I do not know why for the life of me why this has happened and cannot get hold of anyone to find out to resolve the issue….

The notification is as follows:

“Your advertising access is restricted • You’re no longer allowed to use Facebook Products to advertise. You can’t run ads, manage advertising assets, or create new ad or business accounts”.

Who the hell do they think they are?

To dictate and to interfere with my business as I manage Facebook Pages for my clients is beyond unbelievable, do not dictate what I should or should not do unless it is a breach of your T&C’s.

If this is not reinstated I will be suing Facebook for loss of business and I welcome any other business having similar problems to also contact me, together we can face these bullies and stand up to them.

Yes you heard me I will be suing Facebook if my advertising is not reinstated.

If you do not like your new image do not be a bully and re-instate my advertising and I may consider taking it down at my sole discretion……….it works both way, see how you like it having an image of you on my blog which depicts who you are in which I have sole control over!!

You can DM me to get my details and ask me to take the image down and
reinstate my advertising or you will be hearing from my lawyers.

Business in Isolation

Securing your business:

An example of business isolation during lockdown may be a driving instructor, electrician, or a factory production company to just name just a few, so what do you do when you are on lockdown and in isolation how do you turn this around? You obviously do not want to lose your customers how do you generate more business and most importantly how do you survive and continue paying your staff that is the big question.

Firstly, the UK Government has grants and loans available that they are giving to businesses in need of help.

Secondly, defer production and explain to your customers situation, be transparent, and in order to secure business further down the line give incentives. I know you may be already finding finances hard but remember you have the business already established, you just need to postpone it for a little while and for new customers give them special offers so that you can secure their business.

Remember keep safe and don’t try to break the rules as you may lose your license or get fined, Sports Direct has already suffered public condemnation for needlessly trying to stay open and pubs who continue to trade in Lockins are liable to have their licenses taken off them.

Conduct daily morning meetings with your workers and give them motivation and inspiration to work. We can become very complacent in our own homes and have distractions that can easily send us astray. Workers need to stay focused and need to have daily tasks set for them with goals they need to achieve and report on.

When you have automatic recurring costs that you charge your customers, consider suspending the costs and giving them credit for future business. Work out your cash flow for the next few months and refrain from spending on unnecessary subscriptions and services, try to minimize your spending and evaluate your overheads as a whole and see where you can cut costs to the minimum. Discuss with your bank your situation and see if they can help you with extended loans or get government grants that can tide you over.

The government is bringing in new measures to assist small businesses, freelancers, and sole traders. Do keep up to speed on what assistance you are able to claim. If you have an accountant speak to them about any financial advice, they can give you, after all that’s what they are there for.

Secure your future:

Going back to the example of say driving instructors offer special offers like book your bulk 40 lessons now and get 6 -10 lessons free with lessons resuming in April for example. I am being optimistic the lockdown will be lifted in April.

Electricians can book your appointment now with work to be carried out in April with no call-out charge only if you use the code: covid19 and book now for example and the offer is only available for advanced bookings.

If you are a production company waive all charges in order to secure your business give incentives that is the key.

The public mindset will be altered over the next year or so, therefore you need to find ways to reassure your customers and give them a reason to use you. Marketing campaigns and advertising are going to be the main factors in order to generate new business. Consider what you need to do in order to drive business. LinkedIn is a good way to start advertising, but you need a lot of connections or know of someone that has a lot of connections. The alternative is to consider pay-per-click advertising such as Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, and LinkedIn Sponsor Ads.

Conclusion

***Stay positive. Every crisis eventually passes, position yourself for growth when it does.
